Appointment as the inaugural Chair of Brand Gold Coast

I got a “bucket list” phone call yesterday. An all-time career highlight!

It was to let me know I’ve been appointed inaugural Chair of Brand Gold Coast.

I’ll be serving alongside an incredible cohort of leaders to build a high-performing brand for this incredible City:

What a privilege to play a part in defining what the Gold Coast stands for and why people should choose to live, work, visit and invest here.

I’ve done plenty of out-there brand campaigns, including wrapping an entire building in a new logo. But branding a place, a shared public asset, is an opportunity that comes up maybe once if you’re very very lucky.

A shoutout to City of Gold Coast for recognising the opportunity to see the brand differently.

On Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Gold Coast this morning, host Sarah Cumming issued a challenge to her listeners.

Their mission? To come up with a tagline that reflects both our style AND our substance.
