Did you know almost half of the Australian community struggles to read? And it’s not because we’re an illiterate mob.
A lot of it has to do with the readability of the information we’re consuming.
In a recent analysis of the government’s COVID communications, researchers found that “easy to read” material needed to be written for someone with a year 8 education or lower.
What they found, instead, was that we readers needed a much higher level of education to understand the COVID health information that’s being published.
